The Big Game
Published in Paperback by Human Kinetics Pub (September, 1983)
Author: John Sullivan
Average review score:

Great book on history of Big Game....including "The Play"
A great game by game coverage of the University of California Golden Bears vs Stanford University in their annual "Big Game" football game.

It includes photographs and copies of the Sports pages for many of the games as well as a comentary on the game and special colorful events of each game day along with brief descriptions of the "historial context" of the moment. And, of course, it includes the stats.

I purchased copies for myself and friends (10 copies) but have lost mine and am delighted to discover that I can order it. I look forward to receiving it before the 101st home game this year!

It is a great gift for any Cal fan....and objective enough that I would guess that even Stanford Junior Univesity folk would enjoy it.

Boyfriend 101: A Gay Guy's Guide to Dating, Romance, and Finding True Love
Published in Paperback by Villard Books (13 May, 2003)
Author: Jim Sullivan
Average review score:

Thank you Mr. Sullivan!!!!
Kudos to the author! This is a must have for gay men who seem to have most areas of their lives together except for that allusive committed relationship. Mr. Sullivan's approach is wonderful - you can't have the house with the white picket fence without first laying a good foundation. Mr. Sullivan teaches us to first identify where we are coming from and where we are heading, what we need in a relationship versus what we would want in a relationship. He addresses issues key to gay men and stumbling blocks in the way of a relationship and red flags to be aware of. I found myself identifying easily with many of Mr. Sullivan's clients in their hope to find a nice guy to build a relationship with. I highly recommend this book as a aingle person, a counselor, and a gay male. Thank you again Mr. Sullivan your work is greatly appreciated.

Jim Sullivan has done our community a real service
Jim Sullivan's Boyfriend 101 is an easy and fun to read primer on dating that our community has needed and wanted for a long time. The book is chock full of useful advice and illuminating examples. What's more, this sensible guide really works. I can attest to it from my experience.

Thank you Jim!

Average review score:

Chronicles a talented writer's near-legendary life
Brendan Behan: A Life chronicles a talented writer's near-legendary life and illustrates why Behan became one of Ireland's most celebrated artists. Compiled from a wide variety of sources which included prison documents, interviews with family and friends, editors and contemporaries, biographer Michael O'Sullivan was able to present a lucid and vivid introduction to the complex personal world of a genuine literary genius. Brendan Behan: A Life is a "must" for those who appreciate the contributions, influence and work of this unusual and gifted literary figure of modern Irish literature.

Bridges Connect: A Building Block Book (Building Block Books)
Published in Library Binding by Carolrhoda Books (December, 1996)
Author: Lee Sullivan Hill
Average review score:

'An enthusiastic narrative towards Architectural awareness.'
The author has the talent to converse to the young reader and hold them captive in her exploration of bridges. She uses simple language so as not to overpower the pictures themselves. Adults will enjoy this as a read aloud book to share as it invites a relook at bridges we 'thought we had looked at' in our passings. I'm sure this will book will create future Architects, Engineers and Builders. Enjoy it and I look forward to many more in her series.

Bunting's Ancient Music of Ireland
Published in Hardcover by Cork University Press (November, 1983)
Authors: Donal O'Sullivan, Michael O'Suilleabhain, and Micheal O. O'Suilleabhain
Average review score:

Bunting's Ancient Music of Ireland
This book provides notes and background to all of the tunes in Bunting's last collection. Michael O'Suilleabhain edited this work as something of a tribute to the work of Donal O'Sulivan on this subject and builds upon the groundwork that Donal O'Sullivan has already laid down in this area of study. I found this book to be quite insightful and highly recommend it to anyone who wants to learn more about the work of Edward Bunting.
